These are really disliked by the Ferrari community for some reason, but they are one of my favorites. They are so nicely proportioned and have the side strak es like the Ferrari poster I had as a kid. It’s like a 355 and Testarossa had a baby.

A ‘Euro shop’. That is interesting to read. We don’t have those here at all. You have dealerships, you have independent shops specialized on one or two manufacturers and you have universal shops. Shops that specialize in for example both VAG and Fiat/Alfa or BMW and Renault will be hard to find, as the brands are so different. When a shop focus es on multiple brands they tend to be either country specific (France; Peugeot, Citroen, Renault) or company specific (Renault, Nissan). But sweeping a whole continent together does not really happen.

I don’t think it’s so alien as you might be thinking. I called it a Euro shop because, well, it’s not really a Peugeot shop, but I don’t think anyone is taking their Holden there either if you catch my meaning.

I suspect they were once a dedicated Peugeot shop, and branched out to attract more business. The fact that they even mention Saab suggests:

1. They branched out some time ago

2. They’re doing just fine, with no need to pivot again and maybe repaint that sign

I think it’s sort of cool that this independent can get by picking up a sort of broad, but relatively specific slice of business that works for them. They even had a Ro80 once.

Certainly it seems the sort of shop that gets by on repeat business over many years/decades, rather than churning through half-assed oil changes on warrantied 318is. It’s the sort of place I’d take my car to, if it weren’t completely outside the realm of their slice.

I like them just fine. They’re not so different to the 355, the whole era is pretty.
